PORTRAITS OF BRITAIN
Philip Martin
Glyn Martin
A series of fine quality signed limited edition prints taken from the watercolours by
Philip and Glyn Martin
For over thirty years renowned artists Philip and Glyn Martin have been touring Great Britain capturing, in finely detailed watercolour paintings, the couontry's much loved towns, villages and favourite places It has taken these talented brothers thousands of miles around Britain. They have painted scenes in rural villages, industrial towns and cathedral cities, tiny fishing villages and great city ports, humble cottages and stately homes.
Gradually they have built up an impressive portfolio of many hundreds of different prints which continues to grow as demand for their work increases. It has been a huge task but the care and attention to detail shows through in each picture. 'Portraits of Britain' have rapidly become collectors items especially as only 850 prints are taken from each original.
Each print is one of a strictly limited edition, individually numbered out of 850 and signed. The original watercolours are used only for one edition and no other reproduction is made.
The high quality of printing and the material used sets these prints apart. They are difficult to distinguish from the originals as they retain so much of the feel and delicacy of watercolour.
The artists themselves are very involved in the printing process. They work with a talented craftsman who has developed a way of printing on real watercolour paper. This paper is produced especially for them by an English mill. It is made from 100% cotton and is completely acid free.
