TIM THOMPSON
Born in Hull in 1951 and spending much of his early childhood on the tiny Channel Island of Herm. At the age of ten he moved to Guernsey, where he studied for a Diploma in Horticulture.

He married in 1973 and moved to Saltash in Cornwall, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
Tim began his carrer in paining when he was 27. He specialises in Marine Art from Drake's period through to the latest high tech yachts, and loves all aspects of the sea and sailing. He enjoys working plenty of atmosphere into his paintings and always trys to achieve a dramatic effect.

He has exhibited in London, Paris, Wahington D.C., Mystic Connecticut, Monaco, Vancouver, Guernsey, Italy, Belgium, Germany and Australia, and at R.S.M.A. exhibitions. He has co-authored two books "The Paintings of the America Cup" and "The Story of Yachting" and in November 1992 produced "R.N.L.I. Gold Medal Rescues", from which eight images are available as prints
