Unfortunately Christleton Post Office was closed by the Royal Mail in March 2008. There had been a Post Office in Christleton since 1819. The decision to close Christleton along with hundreds of other rural post offices is considered by the majority to be one of the most stupid and ill advised decisions by the Labour government. Whilst they preach how people should be more green I now have to make a 5 mile round trip in the car each day to send off my mail.
