THESE ARE ALL ORIGINAL VICTORIAN FASHION PLATES - NOT MODERN REPRODUCTION
A series of early hand coloured fashion plates for fashions in 1827, 1830, 1831 and 1832 by William Wolfe Alais who exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1829 and 1833. Size 6 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches. The plates were tightly bound on the left hand side into a volume so there is some slight trimming on this side. Some of the titles beneath the plates are eigher totally trimmed off or partly trimmed. The prints have been photographed on a black background to show the extent of this.
